Under the leadership of Dean Colleen G. Koch, M.D., M.S., M.B.A., the UF College of Medicine has launched a comprehensive strategic planning process to develop a road map that will guide the college’s future for years to come.
The seven pillars of the College of Medicine
Education
The University of Florida College of Medicine will lead the nation in developing innovative educational models and integrating them into evidence-based curricula that encompass multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary programs to advance medical, biomedical and health sciences education.

Research
The University of Florida College of Medicine will lead the nation in conducting innovative multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research in fundamental science, leading breakthroughs in knowledge of disease processes, and advancing the development of disease diagnostics, therapeutics and population-based care models.

Patient Care
The University of Florida College of Medicine will be a national leader in evidence-based medical care that is patient-, family- and community-centered, with state-of-the-art treatments, leading-edge care-delivery pathways and excellence in the patient experience.

People
The University of Florida College of Medicine will become a national leader in cultivating an inclusive workplace that promotes professional development, personal growth and well-being and fosters a shared sense of community and civic engagement.

Diversity, Inclusion and Health Care Equity
The University of Florida College of Medicine will lead the nation in promoting and celebrating workplace diversity and inclusion and will support comprehensive, intentional strategies to advance health care equity and access to care.

System Integration
The University of Florida College of Medicine will support an integrated UF Health system that advances our patient care, education, research and community service missions across the region to enrich the experience of our college community and better the lives and health of the populations we serve.

Value
The University of Florida College of Medicine will be a national leader in implementing evidence-based, outcomes-driven practices and conscientiously managing resources to increase high-value, equitable patient-centered and population-based care.
